Chapter XXXI

Shadow grasped the sand from the ground, sprinkling it into the winds, whispering a quiet prayer for those who had perished. The sand turned transparent and sparkled as the wind carried it away.

Shadow took in a deep breath before he dropped into his own shadow.

2 days later
The Capital of Fera, White Storm City

Jaens slipped quietly from the crowd and entered an alleyway. Looking back to see if anyone was following him, he made his way deeper into the alleyway maze. After making a couple of turns, Jaens found himself facing a dead end. He turned one last time, checking behind him before he ran and entered the wall.

Jaens had just entered one of the the few base of ANGELS, the wall was an illusion created by Shadow himself. There were only three people there. One Healer, one Crusader and himself, a Champion.

The ANGELS were sorted into ranks, Healer being the lowest, followed by Mystic, Crusader, Champion, Guardian and Lord, the leader of ANGELS, Virgil.

"What was it that was so important, I have to be called?" Jaens asked, walking over to the Healer, who pointed to a moniter. Strange symbols were displayed on it.

"We intercepted a magical broadcast from the Clan base over to a small group nearby." The healer explained. "It was encrypted, so it took sometime to process. The result however was disturbing." The Healer then waved his hand over a crystal orb, and the symbols transformed into words. Jaens took a step back, shocked.

WE FOUND THEM. ARREST. DEAD OR ALIVE.

"We needed further orders if we should evacuate." The Crusader said. "We paged for any Champion class ANGEL nearby and you came."

"Evacuate." Jaens said. Quickly, whispering an incantation and drew a circle on the ground, in a flash of red light, Jaens was now fully clothed in ANGELS gear, holding a long spear, with a redish aura around the blade. They both did the same, ready to storm out of the base.

"Be prepared." Jaens said, and placed his mask on, magically sealing itself.

Chapter XXX

The librarian swept the dust off the book, coughing from the dust. "This book is about 6000 years old, about as old as me." He said, laughing.

"6000?" Someone said, sitting at a nearby table asked, marveling in another book. "That's pretty young for an immortal. Well, I am done with this book too." He laughed and stood up from his chair. The man had pure white hair, his eyes were covered with a long red cloth which was tied behind his head and allowed to flow to the ground. He was dressed in a black coat with white trimmings, reaching to the ground. The coat was opened, revealing his black top made of dragonhide and his soft yet stiff white pants. "It's amazing how fast you can read with your mind." He said, then he felt a sudden impact on his stomach and coughed. "What the-"

5340 miles away...

"I am sorry! I didn't know it was so powerful!" Jing said, helping Tien back onto his feet. Tien smiled weakly and mumbled he was okay. Jing's dragon abilities with her current level of magic was powerful enough, however, when fused, even Tien flew from the impact from her punch when it landed on his stomach.

"Very well done." Tien said.

Back at the Library...

"Tien! Are you okay?" The immortal asked, approaching Tien quicky.

"I am okay. I think my clone recieve some sort of powerful blow." Tien said, rubbing his stomach. "The first one died, that was when I felt some pain in my chest. Now, this one must have recieve a powerful impact on his stomach, but I am sure he won't die. He is strong enough."

"I understand." The immortal said, relaxing his elderly features. His bald head gleaming from the light, his long white beard flowing over his red robes. "Well, I'll leave you to your books then. Please do remember your promise." He said before turning to leave.

"Just to be curious, how old is this immortal princess i am suppose to find in the mainlands?" Tien asked.

The immortal turned and smiled. "16."

Chapter XXIX

"VIRRRGIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

Virgil stopped dead in his tracks. Turning to look, he saw Eva running towards him.

Eva threw a punch at Virgil, only to hit nothing but air.

"Impressive." Virgil said standing behind Eva. "What are you hitting again?"

Eva turned and threw another punch, this time with a shockwave that shattered glasses all around, only to hit air.

"I like your style." Virgil said, leaning towards the wall nearby.

Eva charged an energy bolt and fired it towards Virgil, only to hit the wall.

"Enough is enough. Stop destroying public property." Virgil spoke softly into Eva's ears.
Virgil stood behind Eva and held her wasist, Eva blushed immediately.

Eva spotted an interesting ring on Virgil's left fourth finger. The gold ring had an emblem on it, none like what Eva has seen before. The emblem had 6 swords and a pair of wings etched from the center.

"Interesting ring." Eva said.

Virgil released Eva, and she immediately turned, only to see Virgil missing.

"Idiot." She said.

Eva tracked Virgil's aura until she found him eating a bowl of noodle in an inn.

"You can't run now. I sealed this inn with a containment spell, only a blood elf can break this spell." She told Virgil, smiling happily.

Virgil however ignored her and continued eating.

"Hey!" Eva said, getting irritated at Virgil's attitude. She picked up a plate on a nearby table and threw it a Virgil. Virgil dodged the plate easily, and went back into his noodles. This flared Eva up and she blast the table into splinters with a powerful magic bolt. Virgil however was now at another table, slurping his noodles in delight.

He turned to face Eva. "This noodles are good, you should try some." He said, before returning to his noodles. Eva screamed and fire another blast at Virgil. The furniture exploded from the impact, however Virgil was now sitting on top of the cashier. Laying the bowl down, he took 3 gold pieces and gave it to the innkeeper. "This should cover the cost of the noodle and the furniture that pervert destroyed." Virgil said, before he finished the noodles.

Virgil ignored Eva who was fuming mad and staring at him. Walking to the door, he sensed the invisible barrier in front of him.

"Give up, only I can break this spell." Eva said. "To leave, you will just have to apologise to me and promise to be my servant!"

Virgil rolled his eyes, deciding to ignore her. Whispering an incantation, he proded the barrier with his finger, and the barrier melted away. Virgil then stepped out of the inn.

"Impossible!" Eva gasped, running out along with Virgil. "How did you do it?" She asked.

Virgil stopped and turned looking into Eva's eyes. "You want to know?" He said gently, approaching her. "Close your eyes."

Eva blushed wondering if Virgil was trying to kiss her. She closed her eyes and immediately felt Virgil's aura vanish. She opened her eyes immediately, knowing Virgil was gone.

"I WILL GET YOU ONE DAY!" She screamed.

Chapter XXVIII

"What do you mean you cannot find anything on ANGELS?" Minas said. Slaming her hands onto the table. "A group of renegades running around interfering with our work, i want them hunted down!"

"With their numbers, it is amazing at such they can overpower us." Someone said standing from his seat. "It proves how much the Clans are loosening up!"

The representatives of the Clans were gathered together in a meeting, the formation of ANGELS has sparked jealousy from some Clans, as although new, the ANGELS were gathering support from the people.

"I say we hunt each and every one of them down." Another said. "They could be spies, considering they don't reveal themselves, always working in secret and donning masks!"

Nika watched as they quarreled, rubbing the ring on her index finger. The sliver ring gleamed, reflecting the sunlight pouring into the room. Three swords centered between two wings was etched on it, forming a depression in the metal.

Nika stood up from the table and turned to leave.

"Hey you!" A man noticed Nika leaving. "Why are you leaving? Aren't you the representative of the Holy Clan?"

Nika turned to face the man. "Can't a person get a breathe of fresh air?" She said, before she pushed opened the door and left the room.

Nika walked towards a nearby balcony, showing the stunning view of Antheron, capital of the Mainlands, she felt the breeze blow pass her hair. Closing her eyes, she enjoyed the feeling.

Nika turn all of a sudden, feeling someone behind her. "O... It's you. You almost scared the hell out of me." She said. Jaens smiled as he walked forward. Brushing his hair back, he gazed at the buildings around them. His ring reflected the light into Nika's eyes. "Hey!" She said, covering her eyes.

"Oops, sorry." Jaens apologised, and looked at his ring. "It's still like a dream to me. Considering the honor and everything. The only downside is we are actually enemies of our own Clans now." He gazed at the four swords and the angel wings on his ring for a moment before he diverted his eyes back to Nika. "You do know you are under me now right?"

Nika smiled, before kicking Jaens hard in the shins. "Let's get back to the meeting before anyone suspects."

Chapter XXVII

As the wind blew, Shadow stood on top of the castle walls, looking at the war-torn grounds.

"So it ends..." Shadow said and disappeared into the darkness of the night.

Zes and Zans stood on the battleground, not believing what they saw.
But it was obvious, Shadow had came, one would know by looking at where the skeleton army once stood.

It was nothing, but a huge crater.

Shadow slowly turned transparent and disappeared.

Chapter XXVI

Jing stared at Tien. He was sipping water slowly from his cup, while staring back at Jing at the same time. Tien had replaced his white coat with a grey cloak that reached his knees.

Jing was still trying to understand what had happened. The Tien she knew was Tien's clone all along, he was creating ANGELS in the mainland, however was interested by elven magic, so he sent his clone to learn for him. He sensed his clone return and made his way over.

The Tien in front of Jing now was many times more powerful than the Tien she knew. The Tien in front of her has enough power to even take on the elves' king. She knew the old Tien's powers and limitations, this Tien showed nothing like before.

Invincible. Jing thought.

"You flatter me. I am not invincible. I have my limitations, and yes, i am able to read your mind." Tien said looking into Jing's eyes.

Jing nodded, remembering how Tien fought Reas. It ended in a second.

"Tien?" Reas gasped. "How?"

"There will be no need to tell a dead man." Tien replied.

Reas saw Tien vanished from his sight, then the world went black as Tien's fist shattered every bone in his body.

Selphina screamed as the shockwave from Tien's blow went through her, bursting her blood vessels and her heart collapse as she fell to the ground dead.

Jing held her breath, Tien had just killed two mages with a single punch. With her dragon eyes, she could see the magical aura used in that punch, it was gigantic, yet with so little effort. She too felt the shockwave, as the walls around them cracked, she felt her lungs about to collapse when suddenly the force was gone. Tien's arm wrapped around her, as he carried her high into the skies.

"Jing." Tien's voice awakened her from thought. "My ring told me everything i needed to know. Seems that i am supposedly your master."

Jing nodded. "You saved my life, i am duty-bound to serve you."

"My clone saved you. Now he is dead, your debt is paid."

"But you are still alive, clone or not, you played a part."

"How can a servant fall in love with her master then?" Tien said, his piercing gaze locked into Jing's eyes.

"Huh?" Jing was taken back. How could he tell?

"It was obvious from your expression when Selphina asked me to be her boyfriend." Tien said. "Jing. You will be free, however, please understand that liking someone like me, will do you no good."

Having finished what he wanted to say, Tien stood up to leave.

"Wait." Jing called out to Tien. "What if i said i want to be an ANGEL like you?"

Tien turned. "The training is very difficult. Many almost died in training. Are you up to it?"

"Yes, my lord."

"That will be Tien to you. Call me any other fancy name and i'll kick you out of ANGELS."

"You mean you'll accept me?"

Tien nodded.

"We have to go now."

Chapter XXV

The sun had set, Jing was reading an elven parchment, while Tien stared out of the window.

All of a sudden, an unpleasant aura swept throught them. "Tien! Did you feel that?" Jing asked, turning to Tien.

Tien nodded and opened the glass window. He jumped out and landed into a small alley. The evil mage was close. Tien could sense it. Someone was approaching fast. He turned, his fist stopping millimetres away from Selphina's face.

"Sorry! I felt the aura and came." Selphina said. Tien nodded and turned, looking for the hidden mage. "He must be very close." She said, approaching closer to Tien. Tien nodded, he felt a quick movement behind him.

Tien screamed as the dagger plunge into his heart. Jing immediately jumped out of the window and held Tien before he fell. "YOU!" Jing shouted at Selphina, and raised her hand a fireball ready. Then, Jing felt a punch land on her stomach and she flew. The man with the emblem on his head appeared suddenly, his evil aura more powerful now.

Someone caught Jing. His aura was strong, however the man's aura overpower his. He laid Jing gently on the ground. He was robed in a type of flowy white cloth, with a hood that covered his face in shadows.

"It is too late to save him. Even with his powerful recovery ability, that dagger has the power to absorb every single drop of magic from him." The man said to the person. "Even you mighty ANGELS are unable to save him."

"ANGELS?" Selphina asked.

"ANGELS is a group of powerful mages, started to fight against us Demonian mages who managed to get pass Saint's barrier, which is weakening every minute. They were created for the sole purpose of fighting us, and remembering Saint." The man explained, while the ANGEL stared at Tien's lifeless body. "They have different ranks, Healer being the lowest and Guardian is sort of like a leader. Judging by his aura, he is just a Knight. Nothing close to being able to beat me."

The ANGEL pulled of the white cloth which suddenly faded into nothing. Now he was in a white coat, the length reaching the floor, the coat was unbutton, revealing the black dragonhide armor inside, protecting his upper body. His pants was a stiff black material which seemed soft yet durable. He was wearing a white mask that covered his face, revealing only a little of his eyes. A metal clip on the collar of his coat shocked the man.

"A Guardian!" The man said, pointing at the ANGEL's clip. Which was shaped with five swords and two wings. "My name is Reas. It is a pleasure to fight a Guardian. Tell me your name." Reas said, shifting into a battle-ready position.

The Guardian removed his left glove, made of the same material as his pants, revealing three rings, one on each finger except the thumb and the index finger without. He pointed his index finger a Tien's body and a white light beamed into Tien.

"It is no use Guardian. You're too late to save him." Reas said, before a scream came from behind the Guardian. Jing had regain conciousness and ran toward's Tien body.

"Please save him." She said, crying. Tien's body to glow before he got up. Jing immediately held him tightly.

"Thanks. Good to see you." Tien said to the Guardian. "I guess its time huh?"

"IMPOSSIBLE! HE SHOULD BE DEAD!" Selphina screamed behind Reas. Reas was puzzled, however he remained calm.

Tien turned to Reas and smiled before he started glowing brighter.

"Tien, kick their ass for me." He said before the light vanished suddenly and he became a ring, zooming into the Guardian's index finger. The Guardian removed his mask.

Jing, Reas and Selphina stared in shock.

"So, i have to respect his wishes." The Guardian said, smiling at Reas.

Or rather, Tien said to Reas.

Chapter XXIV

"Really?" Selphina asked.

"No." Tien replied.

Selphina pulled a long face. "You're mean."

"Well... I hate to say this, however, We have to leave." Tien said, getting up and motioned to Jing to leave. "Thanks for the coffee."

"Why so soon?" Selphina asked, holding onto Tien's hand.

Tien pulled his hand free of Selphina's grip, apologise and with a sudden S-un, disappear from her sight.

"Awww... He is playing hard to get." Selphina said, smiling at Jing.

Jing nodded and walked off.

The smile faded from Selphina's face. A man appeared behind her, he was bald, with a red emblem burned onto his scalp. His eyes was completely black, there was no whites at all.

"It has all gone well. Releasing the Behemoth from the prison managed to lure him out." The man said. "Soon we will be able to get rid of him."

"Be careful. He is Saint's son after all." Selphina said, before the man vanished.
